Estonia’s cherished Song Celebration that in 2019 celebrates its 150th anniversary, took place from 6-7 July in the country’s capital, Tallinn; Tiina from our staff in Raheny, and of Estonian origin, was present at the festival and shared some beautiful photos with us.
That’s Tiina flying the Irish Flag and taking part in the opening parade.
There were more singers, more choirs, more tickets sold, and there had been more dancers than ever before at dance festival earlier in the week. The festival organisers said there were 1,020 choirs, 35,000 singers, and 11,500 dancers.Sunset over the park. Tiina told us, “I’m back from the Singing Festival and all I can say is that it was fantastic. Over 25 000 singers singing together and the 100 000 audience joining in too. I attach some photos of the parade, singing grounds and my choir but it probably just can’t do the justice about the atmosphere and vibe of the festival.
